Media: pastels

Whether painting en plein air or from photos of favorite landscapes, I enjoy creating landscapes that capture the beauty of the moment - the vibrant color and the play of light and shadow that invite the viewer in. Each landscape poses a creative puzzle to solve - how best to capture the view, the delight, and sometimes the sense of “awe.” Painting is a process. The satisfaction of the final product rests on the enjoyment of the creative response to the scene.
