Kay Tiedt grew up in rural, St. John’s, Michigan and spent many summers up north at a lake house on Higgins Lake. Her mother was an artist and focused on florals and elements of natural beauty in her work. Kay’s long-lasting experiences at the lake and her mother’s creative passion have influenced her artwork. Kay has a background in nursing and discovered the soothing qualities of art in healthcare. This inspired her to create serene Michigan landscapes. Working from treasured photographs as well as plein air settings, Kay’s paintings reflect moments that express warmth and a sense of peace.
