Exploring the relationships between colors and shapes inspire me to push paint around and explore its possibilities. I look for unusual ways to create using the visual stimulus around me to inspire my work. My primary media are clay and oil painting. My work is about connecting these elements with the viewer, but it is also about connecting with people. In 2015 I began organizing group shows most of them are POP-UP, one-day art shows. The mission of these shows is to bring artists, community organizations and businesses together through art. In 2017 the Lakeshore Visual Artists Collective began and received its non-profit status. I am currently enrolled in Savannah College of Art and Design's MFA in painting program and teach art full time for Hudsonville Public Schools. My Home and studio are in Grand Haven, MI where I reside with my husband and son.
